Ireland's largest student union, University College Dublin Students' Union, is facing a referendum on affiliation to the Union of Students in Ireland. The call for disaffiliation is becoming extremely popular and increasingly hard to challenge. UCD students also joined the IT Tallaght protesters and Gardaí were required to move some students to allow Quinn access to his vehicle.

Striking students have been taking to the Quebec streets for three months.
Hundreds of thousands are involved in the movement against a proposed 75 percent increase in tuition fees. Students have voted to continue the strike in general assemblies every week.
