The Hunt Report on the future of Higher Education is due to report in the next few weeks and will call for a return of university fees.

NUIM students staged a protest against Mary Hanafin on Thursday 16th of September in response to her being invited to open the new Iontas building. Students assembled outside the building in lue of her visit at 11.am, the protest which had been called by NUIM's student union, saw somewhere in the region of 50 people in attendance, a small but considerable turnout given that NUIM doesn't resume fully until the 20th of September. Among those present where a sizable contingent of political groupings, including SInn Fein, SWP & Labour Youth.

UCD Student Union Council has called for a referendum in an attempt to repeal the boycott of Coca Cola products in SU outlets, which was put in place by referendum in 2003.
